2022 Ford Expedition
The Ford Expedition is Ford's largest SUV and is positioned as the pinnacle of family vehicle comfort. It's big and imposing, yet sleek and dramatic. For 2022, in addition to its regular capabilities, it adds two versions, a performance version called Stealth and a more adventurous version called Timberline. But even the standard Expedition versions are getting a major makeover.
Off the beaten path
Of the major new features, the Timberline edition of the Ford Expedition is the most dramatic with its enhanced off-road capabilities. In addition to its Active Orange exterior accents and a unique grille, the model has increased ground clearance and a wider track for added stability. As for the performance Stealth, its sport-tuned suspension can steer the big vehicle, which features Ford's high-output 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine that produces 440 horsepower. This latest version is available on the Expedition Limited and Limited MAX, with the Performance Package Stealth Edition.
Technology and connectivity
The 2022 Ford Expedition has a long list of comfort and entertainment technologies. A 12.4-inch digital instrument panel provides access to driving information, while a class-leading 15.5-inch center touchscreen displays SYNC4 system functions. A Bang & Olufsen premium audio system with 22 speakers, more storage space, a completely revised dashboard, and new colour schemes, not to mention premium materials, round out the Ford Expedition's interior.
Blue Cruise
The Expedition Platinum introduces Ford Blue Cruise hands-free driver assistance technology. This newly available feature is based on Ford's intelligent adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, lane centering and speed sign recognition. It allows owners to drive their vehicles hands-free on the highway while being monitored by a driver. However, it can only be activated in pre-mapped sections of pre-qualified divided highways called "hands-free blue zones," identified by distinctive blue lighting in the instrument panel.
